Australian Sandalwood Sourcing Story

Australian Sandalwood Sourcing Story

Deep into the desert of Western Australia grows a tree that has long been used by the Indigenous people for its medicinal properties. Australian sandalwood is sustainably grown and harvested by the local Indigenous people, allowing them to make their community. Providing funding for education, healthcare and ensuring a brighter future for generations to come. We are very happy to support this community by sourcing our Australian Sandalwood Chips from this co-op.

Over time sandalwood has become one of the most used and highly sort after oils used in skincare, perfumes, and incense. Unfortunately resulting in deforestation, with some sandalwood species becoming endangered. With many countries like Indonesia, Nepal and India now working to protect this beautiful tree. Here in Australia, there have been strict laws put into placed to protected sandalwood species and only allowing specific quantities to be harvested.
